Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) intends to charter a vessel engaged in the Pacific whiting fishery to participate in a pilot study testing a Bycatch Reduction Device (BRD) designed to reduce rockfish bycatch. This project will be a collaborative study between the PSMFC, the NOAA Fisheries-Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC), and the west coast Pacific whiting fishing industry.

Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) intends to charter one vessel to participate in a fisheries research project investigating young-of-the-year (YOY) groundfish along the Newport Hydrographic Line (NH-Line) in coordination with ongoing zooplankton surveys in the area. The project will be in collaboration with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) employees from the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) and Oregon State University.

Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) intends to charter one purse seine vessel to participate in a fisheries research project investigating the distribution and abundance of sub-yearling Chinook salmon north and south of the Columbia River. The project will be in collaboration with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) employees from the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) and Oregon State University.
The total number of sampling days is expected to be 16; 4 days/month starting in late June through Sept/October 2012 depending on vessel availability and weather conditions. These dates are subject to change based upon weather, logistical, or other contingencies. Loading and unloading for the charter will be conducted in Astoria/Warrenton OR.

of widow rockfish at selected survey sites off of Oregon and Washington.
