RFP 26-007 – 2020 PWS Salmon
Deadline for Written Questions: January 9, 2026
Deadline for Submission of Full-Proposals: January 30, 2026
In 2020, the Prince William Sound salmon fishery faced a severe decline due to warmer-than-average ocean conditions and other uncontrollable environmental factors, reducing biomass and limiting access for those reliant on the fishery. To address the long-term impacts, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) is allocating research funds to improve fishery data quality, supported by a funding opportunity from the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) in collaboration with NOAA Fisheries. Approximately $1,540,000 is available for projects focused on Prince William Sound Pink and Coho Salmon, with all work to be completed by August 31, 2028. Final proposal approval requires NOAA review and compliance with special award conditions tied to the Commission’s primary funding award.
