RFP 26-008 – 2021 Chignik Salmon

Deadline for Written Questions: January 9, 2026

Deadline for Submission of Full-Proposals: January 30, 2026

In 2021, the Chignik salmon fishery suffered a severe decline due to warmer-than-average ocean conditions and other uncontrollable environmental factors, reducing biomass and limiting access for those dependent on the fishery. To address these impacts, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) is allocating research funds to improve fishery data quality, supported by a funding opportunity from the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) in collaboration with NOAA Fisheries. Approximately $345,000 is available for projects focused on Chignik salmon, with all work to be completed by August 31, 2028. Final approval of proposals requires NOAA review and compliance with special award conditions tied to the Commission’s primary funding award.
