For those of you who haven't attended the abalone cookoff at the end of the abalone season in Fort Bragg, here is a taste of what you have missed in the form of a recipe for fried abalone:
Breading mixture: mix together and set aside for at least overnight (save some for another time)
Slice and pound abalone then dip in egg mixture:
Roll in breading mixture; then fry in a very hot pan of light vegetable oil until golden brown on both sides.
