Assimilation of the CCMSP CPFV Survey into MRFSS format records
With the addition of an angler survey form to the existing forms, the data tables
produced will be converted into MRFSS format data records by a computer program. The
MRFSS records produced will have catch grouped by boat trip. Discarded catch (
MRFSS type B) will be distributed to individual anglers randomally and retaind catch (
MRFSS type A) will be shared by all contributors using the the MRFSS group catch (type 4)
record format.
Samples of cpue are independant of length samples in the CCMSP survey while MRFSS length
and cpue statistics are collected together. However since the MRFSS computer program makes
seperate calculations for these two statistics, all CCMSP fish length and cpue samples may
be utilized in the MRFSS estimation program. The sample data will have very few changes in
content and will be formatted identical to regular MRFSS data.
