A Directory of Fishing Groups and Fishing Agencies

Introduction

This directory has been compiled by the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission's F.I.S.H. Habitat Program to help further cooperative work among recreational, tribal, and commercial fishermen, and other citizens concerned about marine, estuarine, and watershed habitat essential to fish and shellfish. Additionally, this directory provides contacts to fishermen for the some of the key agencies involved in fish habitat and management.

It is our intent to update this directory periodically as new information accumulates. If your fishing group is not listed and you wish to be added, or if you have a correction or update you would like to have entered into the director please contact Fran Recht at the address list below.

Directory organization:

How groups are listed: Fishing and conservation groups are listed alphabetically by state. Agencies and tribes are listed separately and subdivided by state.

Categories: Most listed groups have been placed into categories that reflect their primary affiliation; sport fishing, commercial fishing, or conservation. It should be noted that many of the groups listed under sport fishing or commercial fishing are also heavily involved in conservation efforts. Some groups listed involved both sports and commercial fishermen. The categories are simply offered as a rough guide to the group’s orientation.

Information: While we have tried to include as complete information as possible for each listing some information may be missing or out of date. It is our intent to update this directory periodically as new information accumulates. If you have any information that would help us complete or update a listing or if your fishing group is not listed and you wish to be added, please contact Fran Recht at the address list below.

The goals of the F.I.S.H. Habitat Program are to educate fishermen and the public about marine habitat topics and promote conservation and restoration of these habitats. For further information about the F.I.S.H. Habitat Program, contact Fran Recht at (503) 765-2229.

This directory was produced and updated with Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration funds. The last comprehensive update was April 2002, with periodic changes and additions made as requested.
